Agent Skills: a senior engineer's workflow, packaged for AI agents
Coding agents tend to jump straight into code and skip the spec, the tests and the review. Agent Skills turns the habits of experienced engineers into 25 skills, each a workflow with steps, verification gates and tables that counter the agent's excuses. Nine commands from /spec to /ship follow the lifecycle, and the right skill also loads on its own from the task at hand.
Nine slash commands mapped to the lifecycle: /spec, /plan, /build, /test, /constraints, /review, /webperf, /code-simplify and /ship.
/build auto asks you to approve the plan once, then implements every task test-first and commits each one separately, pausing on failures.
interview-me asks one question at a time until it is roughly 95% sure what you actually want built.
constraint-driven-development writes your quality bar to CONSTRAINTS.md and flags new suppressions, skipped tests or weakened assertions in the diff.
Dedicated skills for API design, accessible UI to WCAG 2.1 AA, debugging, security hardening, performance, CI/CD and migrations.
When to use it
You are starting a feature and want a written spec and task list before the agent touches any file.
An agent produces more code than anyone reviews and nobody has written down what counts as good enough.
A branch is about to merge and you want a multi-axis review plus a pre-launch checklist.
Ask your agent
/spec I want users to export their reports as CSV, draft the spec first
Break this spec into small tasks with acceptance criteria and dependency order
Run a five-axis review on my diff before I merge it into main
Questions
How do I install Agent Skills in Claude Code?
Add the marketplace with /plugin marketplace add addyosmani/agent-skills, then run /plugin install agent-skills@addy-agent-skills. For any other agent, npx skills add addyosmani/agent-skills installs the whole pack.
Does Agent Skills work in Codex or Gemini CLI?
Yes. Codex installs it as a native plugin and calls skills with @, and Gemini CLI can install the skills folder directly with gemini skills install.
Why does /review need a different name in Claude Code?
Claude Code already has a built-in /review, so the pack's version is called with its namespace: /agent-skills:review.
