Open a terminalYou need Node.js 22.20 or newer, which brings the npx command.
Get the skillPress “Get skill” to copy the command and paste it into the terminal: npx skills add asks which agents to install it for.
Restart the agentClaude Code, Codex or Cursor pick the skill up in the next session and call it whenever a task matches.

What a skill is

An agent skill is a folder with a SKILL.md file: instructions for an AI agent, sometimes with scripts, templates and reference files. Its header holds a name and a description that tell the agent when the skill applies.

The agent keeps only those descriptions in mind and reads the whole skill when a task matches: “make a deck”, “audit this page’s SEO”, “cut a video”. The same Claude Code becomes a designer, an editor or an analyst without long prompts.

The format is open: the same skills work in Claude Code, Claude.ai, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and other agents that read SKILL.md.

How we chose

We read the README and SKILL.md of every repository, kept skills that solve a clear task and install with one command, and sorted them onto shelves. Stars and last update come from the GitHub API; a pack’s number is how many SKILL.md files it holds.

Questions about skills

What are Claude skills?

Folders with a SKILL.md instruction file that teach Claude and other agents a specific job: building documents, reviewing code, making video. The agent loads a skill by itself when a task matches its description.

How do I install a skill in Claude Code?

Run npx skills add owner/repo@skill-name in a terminal and restart Claude Code. You can also copy the skill folder into ~/.claude/skills by hand.

Are the skills free?

Every skill in the catalogue is public on GitHub. We show each one’s licence on its page; some Anthropic skills carry a licence that limits redistribution.

Is it safe to install skills from GitHub?

A skill can run scripts on your machine, so open SKILL.md and its scripts folder before installing. Each skill’s page says what it needs and what it can touch.

Which agents support skills?

Claude Code, Claude.ai and the Claude API, plus Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot, OpenCode and other agents that read SKILL.md. npx skills add lets you pick the agents.
