Obsidian Skills: let your agent write notes the Obsidian way
A generic agent writes plain Markdown and knows nothing about wikilinks, callouts, properties or .base and .canvas files. This set follows the Agent Skills specification, explains Obsidian's formats to the agent and adds commands for the Obsidian CLI, Defuddle and Knap, so it can read a vault and create notes that fit.
obsidian-markdown: notes in Obsidian Flavored Markdown with wikilinks, embeds, callouts, properties and tags.
obsidian-bases: .base files with views, filters, formulas and summaries, giving table and card views over notes.
json-canvas: .canvas files with nodes, edges and groups for mind maps and flowcharts.
obsidian-cli: search, create and manage notes, tasks and properties, plus plugin reloads, JavaScript runs and screenshots for theme and plugin authors.
defuddle and knap: clean Markdown pulled from a web page, and notes rendered from a template with JSON or CSV data.
When to use it
Your knowledge base lives in Obsidian and the agent keeps breaking wikilinks and frontmatter.
You want a table of projects or books built from notes with Bases without learning the formula syntax.
You build an Obsidian plugin or theme and want the agent to reload it and capture errors.

Questions
How do I install Obsidian Skills in Claude Code?
Use the marketplace: /plugin marketplace add kepano/obsidian-skills, then /plugin install obsidian@obsidian-skills. You can also run npx skills add, or copy the repo into a .claude folder at the root of your vault.
Do these skills work in Codex and OpenCode?
Yes. For Codex copy the skills/ folder into your skills path, usually ~/.codex/skills; for OpenCode clone the whole repo into ~/.opencode/skills/ and restart.
Which Obsidian formats does the agent learn?
Obsidian Flavored Markdown (.md), Bases (.base) and JSON Canvas (.canvas). It also gets instructions for the Obsidian CLI, Defuddle and Knap.
