Callstack Agent Skills: production React Native know-how for your agent
Without React Native experience, an agent easily misses frame drops, breaks native projects during upgrades and gets lost in navigation setup. Callstack packaged what its team learned on production apps into three bundles: building and optimizing, testing, and migrating from native iOS and Android. The agent picks the skill that fits the task.

What it does
react-native-best-practices covers FPS, startup time, memory, bundle size and animations, built on Callstack's optimization guide
upgrading-react-native applies rn-diff-purge template diffs, updates dependencies and works through CocoaPods and Gradle changes
react-navigation builds React Navigation 7 stacks, tabs, drawers, headers and sheets with correct safe-area handling
github-actions sets up CI that produces downloadable iOS simulator and Android emulator builds
assess-react-native-migration checks whether a product is ready to move, and react-native-brownfield-migration adds RN to native apps in phases
When to use it
Your app janks while scrolling a long list or takes too long to start, and you need the cause
It is time to bump React Native and you want to step through the native project changes safely
You run native iOS and Android apps and are deciding whether to adopt React Native incrementally
Ask your agent
Check this React Native screen for performance problems and suggest fixes
Plan an upgrade of this project to the newest supported React Native version
Set up GitHub Actions so every PR builds an iOS simulator artifact
Questions
How do I install the Callstack skills?
For all of them, run npx skills@latest add callstackincubator/agent-skills --skill '*'. For one, put its name after --skill, for example react-native-best-practices.
Do they work in Claude Code and Cursor?
Yes. The README lists Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Gemini CLI and OpenCode, and in Codex the bundles install from the Plugins screen.
Are the skills useful for Expo projects?
Partly. The brownfield skill can embed either React Native or Expo into native apps, and the upgrade skill handles moving the Expo SDK alongside React Native.
