Archify: an architecture map from one sentence or from your repo

Explaining a system in prose is hard and drawing it by hand takes hours. Archify takes a description, Mermaid or the repository itself and produces a checked, interactive diagram as a standalone HTML file: nodes are clickable, a request path can be highlighted, and source links are pinned to a specific commit.

What it does

  • Ten diagram types: architecture, workflow, sequence, dataflow, lifecycle, erd, class, tree, timeline and waterfall
  • Code-backed maps: the agent reads the repository and builds a system diagram whose source links point at a fixed commit
  • Explainer mode answers a question as one page: conclusion first, then panels with tables, steps, charts and numbered sources
  • Dark and light themes, four styles, export to PNG, WebP, JPG, SVG and WebM, or print to PDF
  • finalize validates the diagram before delivery, and edits such as highlighting the cache-miss path come as a follow-up message

When to use it

  • A new developer needs to see quickly how the project's services connect
  • You are writing up an incident and want a timeline or waterfall that shows where the request time went
  • You have to explain a decision to the team on one page with the conclusion, reasons and a diagram

Ask your agent

  • Use Archify to diagram a browser calling the API, the API checking Redis, and a miss falling through to PostgreSQL
  • Read this repository and build an architecture diagram with links to the source
  • Answer as one page: why did P99 go from 80 ms to 600 ms while the mean barely moved

Questions

How do I install Archify?

Run npx skills add tt-a1i/archify@archify. To check the setup, the skill ships node bin/archify.mjs doctor and a demo command.

Does Archify work in Codex and Cursor?

Yes. The README names Cursor, Claude Code, Codex CLI and OpenCode, and the output is a plain HTML file that opens in any browser.

How is Archify different from Mermaid?

Archify accepts Mermaid as input but returns an interactive diagram with themes, path highlighting, code links and image or video export.
